Max roster amounts for boys and girls teams: 14U- 32 | 12U-32 | 10U-40 | 8U-40
Registration Closes 01/01/22 for U8 and U10.

Registrations after posted deadlines will be handled on a case by case basis and will incur a $25 late fee. We need to close registration by the deadlines because teams must be registered with the NCJLA (the league in which we play) and games must be scheduled.

NOTE: Due to new NCJLA Rules the following Zip Codes are allowed to register automatically with Petaluma Rivercats. If you live outside these zip codes and cannot register please email us so we can assist you with registerring your child with Petaluma Rivercats. Registrar Email

Registration Fees:

Boys & Girls Youth 14U, 12U bird special of $325 10/16-12/01; $375 after.

Boys & Girls Youth U8, U10 - early bird special of $300 10/16-1/28; $325 after.

Note: - $25 per sibling discount.

- No registration fees due now if you end up on the waitlist.

- River Cats shooter shirts are included with all registrations.

At the time of registration a $50 non-refundable* registration fee is required for U8 and U10 and a $50 non-refundable* registration fee is required for U12 and U14. You will then get an email with your family's remaining balance.  Follow the instructions in the email to pay the remaining balance anytime before the end of January.

If your child is registered for U8 or U10 all fees must be paid in full by January 31, 2022, or your player will not be able to participate.

If your player is registered for U12 or U14, all fees must be paid in full by Jan 31, 2022 or your player will not be able to participate.


Payment and Financial Aid options for PYL registration fees:

  • Scholarships are available.  Applications can be found on the PYL web site under the documents tab or you can use this link HERE.  All applications must be turned in no later than Jan 31, 2022.  

Required Team/Parent Meetings will be held on a date to be determined. Adults only please.

Player Evaluations for A and Veteran teams:

There are NO CUTS at PYL. We believe that all players have a place to play with us. If your child would like to play on an advanced team we do require that they participate in an evaluation night. Coaches who will not be coaching your child in season will evaluate their athleticism, sportsmanship, Lax IQ, leadership and stick skills.

Girl's Player Evaluation dates:

For 12U and 14U only:

Uniform Information:

All Girls Players:

  • Returning girls players may use their uniforms from last season.

  • All new players will be required to purchase a jersey and skirt.

  • Cost is $50

Boys 8U, 10U, 12U, 14U:

  • All new players will be required to purchase a jersey and matching shorts.

  • Returning boys players may use their uniforms from last season.

  • Note that this year 8U players will need to purchase jerseys.

  • Cost is $50.

All Players:

  • River Cats reversible red/white practice pinnies are required. You may use your pinnie or jersey from last season or purchase a new one.

  • NOTE: Your child may use there Jersey instead of a pinnie.

  • For an additional $30 you can have your last name printed on the jersey. This is not required but these funds go directly to supporting the Petaluma River Cats.

  • There will be two fitting nights in December at Friday Night Lights. Payment will be due then. More information on exact timing to come soon.

  • You can reuse this uniform in following seasons as long as it still fits.

  • Jersey numbers will be awarded based on the number of years played with the River Cats.

All Boys Players:

There are two steps to registration:


Step 1 - US Lacrosse Membership

Every player must have a US Lacrosse Membership that is valid through June 30, 2022. When you begin registration, if you have a current membership you will be told when your membership expires.  If it expires before June 30, 2022, you will need to renew in order to continue your PYL membership.  If you do not yet have a US Lacrosse Membership, you will be given the opportunity to sign up for one.  The payment for the Membership is with US Lacrosse, after you pay you will be given an option to "Print" your receipt or to "Continue with Club Registration".  If you select "Continue with Club Registration" you will be taken back to the PYL Registration system to complete your registration.


Step 2 - PYL Registration

Once you have confirmed your US Lacrosse membership, select "Continue with Club Registration" to proceed to the PYL registration.

2022 Coaches Registration

New and returning coaches,

All coaches need to complete the following before supervising ANY activity:

  • US Lacrosse Adult Coaches membership (includes background check & Abuse Prevention Training) (annual requirement)
  • Heads Up Concussion Certification (annual requirement)

All coaches must also complete the following before coaching a Petaluma Youth Lacrosse team by the end of February 2022: 

  • US Lacrosse Coaches Education Clinic (level 1) (1 X requirement)
  • Positive Coaching Alliance Double Goal Coach Certification (1 X requirement)
  • Sign the Coaches Code of Conduct (annual requirement)
  • Pass the age level rules test for the team you will be coaching (annual requirement)
  • Covid Waiver
